We are adults at work–and most act like it, to a degree anyway. A couple of weeks ago management decided to lock up paper products (paper towels and toilet paper) so that we have to ask for them constantly. We were only told that usage has been abnormally high recently. WTF does that mean? The managers are suppose to keep them stocked but they’re too busy with meetings and such to keep track. Most of us lowly employees think they’ll get tired of it soon and go back to letting us get what we need when we need it. But this is ridiculous. I can’t wait until all of management is gone all day for a meeting and we’re left with nothing. I am so pissed. I had to vent here or I’m afraid I be extremely inappropriate to my boss. Can I go home now? At least there I can use paper products when I need.

My sis got a teaching job! WOOT!!!!!!! She’s worked her ass off since January getting recertified, networking and taking a job as an aide for the EMH class at her kid’s school the second half of last year. She so deserves this!

The twist is that she thought she’d be teaching elementary–particularly kindergarten. She’s taught mainly 3rd and 4th in the past and was mentally prepared for that. Surprise! She’ll be teaching 8th grade Language Arts. Big gear change. LOL. And she needs to get other posters and stuff for her classroom. She thinks 8th graders might be slightly insulted if she put the alphabet on the wall. *G*

I’m so excited for her! I hope this gives her the confidence she needs to tell asshole to go fuck himself. He’s not even trying to grow up from what she tells me. He sees the kids pretty often, but at his convenience. He still doesn’t know what he wants and works/is friends with the bitch. I’m just happy and proud that she’s come such a long way in just few months.

Yes, I finally got a Kindle and love it! I just received it yesterday and it’s so perfect. *does happy dance*. I’ll probably blog more later about it in my new blog Debsy’s Deliberations. It fits in my purse so I’m off now to read for the rest of my lunch time.

I really really want a Kindle, but my pocketbook says NO! *sigh* I keep trying to forget about it by telling myself I can get one in January. We get our bonuses at work then and maybe they’ll have a second generation out then. *nods* Yes, that will be much better. Logic just doesn’t work when you want something though. So I’ll keep whining until I do get one. It would help out a lot if the cats would get jobs to pay for their own food and vet bills. But they seem to think being adorable more than pays their way. And of course they’re right.

It’s been an odd week. I’m not sure why though. Maybe it’s because it’s Derby Week. It really doesn’t affect me since I don’t work downtown Louisville and have to work all week. Today really feels odd–like a holiday where everyone else is off except my company. It’s not true but it feels that way since some companies and the local schools are closed today for Oaks Day. Sometimes we do get to leave early on Oaks Day but we’ve learned not to expect it. It would be nice though. We don’t have much work and several people took off today so it’s turning into a long day and it’s just now noon. *naps*

Cornhole

We have a tournament every year at work during the week before The Kentucky Derby. The finals are this afternoon. The winners get $50 each, 2nd $25, and 3rd $15. Of course my team lost in the first round yesterday, so all I get is a few minutes away from work to watch the finals this afternoon. It really is a fun game! I’d play more but no one plays other than tournament time. I need to think of away to bring it into Dreamscape. I’m sure it can be done. I just need to take some time to think it out.

How can you go wrong with classic Def Leppard mixed with Tim McGraw? I’m on my second listening of the CD and the Leps still rock! Yes, I pre-ordered from Amazon so I’d have it today. I wasn’t sure if it would be available for MP3 download or not and I was NOT taking any chances of not having it today.

And no this is not their covers CD. That was LAST year, people. FGS, wake up! Yes, some of the songs have the same titles as other well known songs but that’s where the similarity ends. This is PURE Lep music.
